Location

The ideal location for an insect hotel should be both sunny and well protected. In such a way that one part is surely placed looking for the sun for the young of the insects, that it presents the necessary heat, and on the other hand there is sufficient protection against the wind and the rain precipitation, so that the insects accept the artificial comfort. A secondary effect is that the interlocking natural materials are kept as long as possible.

On the other hand, it should be in relative proximity as much as possible to grasses, rich flowering wild plants as well as native shrubs and trees, to cover the feeding requirements of the insects. The passageways for the animals are appropriate and do not have to surround it and at the same time visibly located, for the good of the animals that pass through the area. The ideal would therefore be a location close to loam, sand, water and earth.
